Gubalowka - tourist information

A visit to Gubalowka is a "must-do" if you are on a trip to Zakopane. The Gubalowka Mountain offers impressive views and many attractions for younger and older tourists. We highly recommend hiking. There on the top, you can absorb the specific atmosphere and enjoy the sight of the surroundings. However, people who do not want or for various reasons can not take a walk should not deprive themselves form the moments spent on this famous summit. The ideal option for them to reach the top is a ride on the funicular train.

Modern, comfortable, with a glass roof - this is how the PKL train to Gubalowka looks like. Its carriages, which can accommodate about 120 people, pass near each other at the halfway every single ride. Going up and overcoming a difference in the height of about 300 m takes less than 4 minutes.

Gubalowka tickets - price list - anyone who plans their trip to Zakopane types it in a Google search eagerly. That is why we decided to include information on this subject here.

In the high season - from June 20 to September 30, a regular ticket for a PKL train to Gubalowka costs PLN 18 one way and PLN 24 for a two-way ticket, reduced-price ticket - PLN 16 one way and PLN 20 for a two-way ticket. However, in the low season from December 1 to December 13 - a standard one-way ticket costs PLN 16, a two-way ticket costs PLN 22, and a reduced-price ticket, we will buy for PLN 14 one way or PLN 18 both ways.

Gubalowka reduced-price tickets are for children, schoolchildren, students, and seniors over 65 years of age. Children under 4 years of age benefit from free travel - but you must show a valid document confirming their age.

Additional fees must be paid for transporting large luggage, a bicycle, or a dog - 3 PLN one way and 5 PLN two-ways.

Gubalowka - opening hours

From January to June and in September - it works from 9 to 20 - but during the winter holidays and the May weekend it works from 9 to 21:30

From July to August - from 8 to 21:30

In October - from 9 to 19

From November to December - from 9 to 18 - during the Christmas break from 9 to 21:30

You can buy tickets at the lower Gubalowka station or in a ticket machine located at, the lower and upper Gubalowka station. Also, you can purchase tickets in the underground passage at a lower part of Krupowki street or at the Main Post Office on Krupowki street.

Gubalowka - the funicular train is of great interest, that's why you can expect a crowd of tourists during the season. It is worth buying a ticket online at www.pkl.pl/gubalowka.

Additional attraction

A good idea is to buy a one-way ticket. It is worth going back by bike. At the top of Gubalowka mountain, you have Zjazd.pl. It is a bicycle rental, offering not only reliable two-wheelers but also some exciting routes to choose from. Both amateurs and experienced cyclists will find the track suitable for their liking. A ride on a bike or kolobezka is super fun! More than that, it is an opportunity to explore new places and a dose of activity which good for physical and mental health.
